The substance abuse subscale consists of 1 or more items that inquire about possible substance abuse problems and/or thoughts, feelings and behaviors related to recovery from substance abuse. All items are scored so that higher scores indicate greater problems/risk.
Scores are color coded to indicate the severity of problems/risk.
Red=Elevated risk: approximately 15% of clients will score in this range.
Black=Ambiguous risk: approximately 25% of clients will fall in this range.
Green= Low risk: No client reported indication of risk.
